Our Community Skills team offer free information, advice, and guidance to all Samphire Homes tenants who wish to increase their access to skills and opportunities. We’re here to empower you to take the first step and seize every opportunity.
Increase my confidence
Has it been a long time since you’ve attended any formal learning or maybe since you’ve had an interview? Our fully trained advisors can help you to explore any barriers and enable you to overcome these.
We can help you recognise your value and develop confidence when approaching new learning. To get yourself started and see what you already have to offer, you can take the National Careers Service skills assessment.
Develop my skills
We’ll work with you to help identify your skills and develop new ones. Whether you’re looking to improve your digital skills for work and get more connected or want to gain skills in English and maths, the options are endless.
In partnership with West Suffolk College, we’re offering fully funded, online training courses, which are a great opportunity to get back into learning or keep your mind active. You can access Level 1, 2 and 3 courses, and these take around 110 to 180 hours to complete.
Find a job
When looking for a job it can be difficult to know where to start. Whether you’re looking for your first job, a change in career or just want to explore your options, we can help you reach your full potential.
We offer 1:1 support with anything from refreshing your CV and preparing for an interview, to helping you develop your digital skills and explore volunteering opportunities.
Start volunteering
If you're thinking about work but you're not quite ready, volunteering can be a brilliant place to start. It’s a great way to gain skills and experience, while increasing your confidence and helping you meet people in your community.
You can find new opportunities in your local area, and even search for volunteering on job sites such as Indeed.
